yes when i arrived here last year july i got visa extended at airport no problems 3000 peso you get 59 day visa stamp in passport.
Did that turn the 30 day into a 59 day or add 59 to the original 30?
It's actually a paid 29 day 9a tourist visa extension added
on to the original 30 day free entry permit, together aka the 59 day visa.

At the airport if you go into the immigration office and ask for a 59 day visa upon arrival they will stamp your passport with a "stay until" date that is 59 days out from your arrival date (and not a stamp with a "stay until" date that is 30 days out plus a 29 day visa waiver extension.)

thanks so much guys for the great replies about extending at the airport!!!    I wasnt so sure about when i would get to leave for the phils - its getting close enough im always nervous about getting my passport back in time to make my flight.   Ill give immigration at terminal 3 a try - if not ill go to san fernando in la union later before my 30 days runs out
