Excuse me for hijacking The Who thread but speaking of Pink Floyd, I just came across this in my email from Thursday.  If you live in the Metro Manila area and want to see Gilmour's show on 9/13 from Pompeii on video, it will be at Mall of Asia at 7:30pm in the digital theater.  Only 350 pesos each.  Supposedly it is the only showing that will be going down here and MOA will be the only place.  At least that is all I am reading.

Wow, reading this post about the Who & other bands from your younger lives, made me chuckle. My asawa and I, whenever we go driving (which is lots), listen to lots of the mentioned bands. Of course, Muddy Waters, Blind Lemon, Blind Mellon Chitland, Eric's Bibb/ Carman/ Clapton, Dido, Batchelor Girl and really anything from opera to modern, both local and international. It is of no concern for my younger asawa, to sing the words to lots of the foreign songs, as I sing to the local songs. It is, in my asawa's words, "all new, interesting and at times so strange, it gives me more understanding on the things, places and other lives you have lived". Fortunately, we both enjoy music, singing and just sharing with each other.

Hard living is catching up with a lot of these guys more so in the past few years than the usual pace.  I just saw that Tom Petty kicked out from cardiac arrest after falling or something yesterday.
