Buy it in America?
« on: May 30, 2014, 06:05:53 AM »
Reading about deadbolts in the other thread got me thinking: considering that America's high consumption affords us lower prices on many things compared to some other countries, would it make sense to buy some things for a future house here and ship them via balikbayan box to the Philippines?

An example would be Grohe bathroom fixtures. My wife and I installed that brand here in our condo and we're happy with it. Prices seem to be lower here via Build.Com and the like so would it make sense to buy those fixtures here? Are there mechanical difference between a faucet sold here and one sold in the Philippines? I know that this is probably a better question asked of each manufacturer but do any of you have experience with this?

I'm worried about finding quality that's reasonably affordable in the Philippines.
