I'm not really too concern when our BPI bank shut's down for whatever the reasons as long it's only for a few days. We usually have ample amount of cash to hold us over for months, so it's not an issue  for us when banking services is temporarily interrupted.

Between my wife and me, we usually have enough for a couple of days but I would have preferred they sent us an email or text to let us know in advance, in case we needed to have more on hand.

I use BDO and they normally have online banking message advising about these things in advance, but have had the system down once in a while with no warning.  ATMs can be useless at times because of no money them, especially on long weekends or holidays, just life in the Phils.  In this case even with no notice most actions causing the down time are over by 10 am.  Most malls open at 10 am, is this a coincidence?
