EVA Airlines-Anybody ever used
« on: February 24, 2018, 06:49:53 AM »
We'll be heading back to Cebu for summer vacation(June)and have seen some flts by this airline in the 1700 range, and wonder if anyone had ever used them.
Really want KAL all the way there and back, but nothing under 2k.

EVA is an excellent airline, based out of Taipei, Taiwan. Ranked as the third safest airline on earth by a prominent German airline safety organization, EVA has never lost a plane or passenger during its entire existence.

I've flown KAL before, but had a bad experience with their "on the ground" customer service, so no longer fly with them. Also, their safety record isn't as good as EVA. Not to mention that Incheon airport is very close to the border of North Korea, whose "fearless leader" appears to be less mentally stable with each passing month.

If EVA has the lower price, that's just one more good reason to fly with them. The Taipei airport is orderly and clean, and easy to get through when you change planes.

Have you tried https://www.cheaptickets.com, I just check from June 12 to July 27th (I guessed at some dates) and on Delta there appears to be some for $1562

So, we ended up getting the KAL flt we've flown before at reasonable price, and going/coming back, only 25 hour trip time. Only thing don't like is getting into Cebu midnite, so be 1am getting out of there, so will need to get close hotel.

The closet hotel is Days Hotel Airport, it is right outside the airport but still a shuttle or taxi ride away. Nila and I stayed there years ago and a friend stayed there about four years ago, so it is an old hotel but it was okay back then, you cannot drink the water there but they provided bottled water back then, I am guessing they still do.

Just do a little research and planning.  A lot of the hotels have shuttles to pick you up for free.  Tina loves the Shogun suites hotel and that's one of the reasons.  When we land in Manila, she immediately calls them and orders the shuttle while still on the plane.  By the time we go through baggage claim and the rest, they are waiting for us and we can just go.

There are other hotels like that also.  Just book a room and communicate with them about your situation and get everything setup ahead of time.  Then when the time comes, it will go more smoothly.
