We’ve updated our travel advice for the Philippines to include information about recent terror attacks in western Mindanao. We continue to advise Australians not to travel to central and western Mindanao, and to reconsider travel to eastern Mindanao ..

Central and western Mindanao, including the Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Sulu Archipelago and southern Sulu Sea area, do not travel

Be aware that regular travel insurance policies will be void and that the Australian Government is unlikely to be able to provide consular assistance."
