Lee's health
« on: November 16, 2018, 08:50:33 PM »
Sorry that  have not been around for a while, I have pancreatic cancer, stage 4 that is eating up parts of my spine causing me excruciating back pain and last month it basically paralyzed me.

As some of you might be able to catch by my terrible placementI am  posting on my 5.5 inch phone, from a hospital.

I have spent the last couple weeks in the hospital having my discs stabilized  so I can now continue on with my chemo that I have been gettingo for the laste few month.

A CA 19 blood test years ago could have saved my life, now the future is unlikely.

So why am I posting this, in hopes that any of you who may also have it, might be able to take the test and then catch it before it is too late.

Sorry to hear about your condition Lee.  Thoughts are with you and prayers also.  Hope the chemo does it's job.  Thanks for the heads up.

WOW!  Sorry to hear the diagnosis and the pain you are going through Lee.  Hope the Chemo lessen the pain.  Brings back memories of my daughter's Chemo treatments in the late '80s early "90s that were no picnic for her treating the Leukemia.  All our prayers are with you and your asawa.

Sorry to hear what you're going through my friend, but by any luck you get well soon.
I myself just got out of the hospital a few days ago after a 7 day ordeal with a nasty viral infection, I still need to return to Asian Hospital to continue treatments, because my infection is still in my blood.
Thank goodness TRICARE came through and paid 75% of my medical bills, which ran about P400,000.00

That brief message says it nicely.  I join in.

I am typing this from my hospital bed.  My wife thoughtfully brought me my laptop.  Three days ago I decided at long last the see a doctor about a cough that would not go away.  It followed a cold and so I thought little of it.  I had the same thing years ago and the dr. said it was bronchitis and if did not go away in about 2 weeks, then come back.  It went away.

So I thought it was the same this time. But it went on this time for more weeks. Finally, I decided to check it out.  I really hate dr. visits and have only had a few in the last 20 years or so. This time, my wife pushed me.  So off to the dr. a few days ago.  He sent me to emergency right away because of increased heart rate.  He said either I was having a heart attack or it was due to infection.  So here I am, still in hospital with pneumonia secondary pericariditis.  However, I am told I'll be released today.  This is Canada, so no medical bill.

Take care, Lee, and thanks for sharing the tip about the  CA 19 blood test.  Good to know. I think we all appreciate your writing, despite finding yourself in difficult circumstances.

I'm motivated to reply.  If you can post something from the hospital bed - at least I should say hi and hope you feel better.  I hope doctors keep you pain free.  Get well and keep well.
