I can only speak for myself, but when a jury duty letter was in my mail while I was in the PI, one of my adult children who was checking the mail just called the phone number included and told them I was in the Philippines and wouldn't be back for a while.  That was all it took but that was for Bexar County (San Antonio, Texas).

Well a good thing came of this as of this week.
The Judge cleared his record after serving his jail time, but even one day in jail is too much & can cost your life.

They send those cards by regular mail, I throw them out the window.
