Quezon City

Quezon City is located on the northeast of Mani city acted as capital of the country, and even up government agencies, and departments, are located 1 a business and shopping city, but without the gig. Actually the only thing worthwhile seeing is the but Philippines, a public university with a name sur illustrious private universities. It is located in Diliman.

1. Camp Aguinaldo. Actually located within the I Philippine Army on EDSA. Open to the puble are necessary. 18-hole course.

2. Capitol Hills. Located in Diliman. 18-hole co member must accompany guests.

3. EastridgeGolf and Country Club. An 18-hole nearby Rizal province. A membership club.

5. Valley golf and Country Club. An 18-hole golf course, also located in nearby Rizal province. Membership club.

Entertainment. Quezon City offers a variety of entertainment. Along Quezon Avenue there is a wide selection of restaurants, nightclubs and bars.

CALOOCAN CITY

Caloocan City is located north of Quezon City. It is an industrial city, with little to offer to the visitor.

PASAY CITY

Located along Roxas Boulevard, just south of Manila City, is Pasay City. It is the smallest of the four cities that are part of Metro Manila, but after Manila City probably the best known. Pasay is host of a large number of Deluxe, I 't Class and other hotels and restaurants.

Pasay City is also known for its variety of entertainment. After Manila closed all its bars, many moved to Pasay City. Along the Pasay part of Roxas Boulevard, and where EDSA ends on Roxas Boulevard, are many of the bars that used to be on M.H. del Pilar in Manila City. These bars are certainly not cheap, cheaper places can be found on Airport Road.

Golf. Pasay City has a first class golf course : the Villamor Golf Club. An internationally famous 18-hole, 72 par, golf course. The course is open to the public.

LAS PIÑAS

Las Pinas is located on the southern border of Metro Manila. The town is famous for two things: its Bamboo Organ, and the Sarao Jeepney Factory.

The Bamboo Organ goes far back in history. Construction started in 1816 and was completed in 1824. In 1975 the organ was completely overhauled and refurbished by German specialists.

About three kms from here is the Sarao Jeepney Factory, where the famous Manila jeepneys are handcrafted according to clients taste.

MAKATI

Makati is located on the southeast of Manila City. It is Metro Manila's business and financial center. Apart from its 21st century skyscrapers, Makati was also one of the first areas where the Spanish settled. Makati's church, for instance, was built in 1620. This high-rise center is a creation of the Zobel de Ayala family, a family who's roots go straight back to Spanish times. They gradually developed the area into what it is today. Makati has a number of excellent hotels for the businessmen, as well as restaurants, nightclubs and bars. Nightlife is concentrated around Padre Burgos Street. There are two golf courses:

1. Manila Golf and country club. A private club, the course is 18 -holes, 71 pars. A member must accompany guests.

2.Philipine Navy Golf Club. Located inside the military base of Fort Bonifacio, an 18-hole, par 69 course. Open to the public.

MALABON

An area with mainly light and medium industry. Nothing much to see for any visitor.

MANDALUYONG

Mandaluyong is a mixed area. Located close to Makati it gets some of the overspill of Makati. There is quite a lot of light industry, but also office buildings and shopping malls. There are some hotels and restaurants, but not much nightlife.

Golf. Mandaluyong has a very fine and famous golf club: the Wacky Wacky Golf and Country Club, located in the heart of the city. It has two 18-hole courses and is a private member club. Guests must be accompanied/sponsored by a member. Weekdays. Green fees are rather steep, around US$ 200 per day. The club has reciprocal arrangements with many S.E Asian clubs.

MARIKINA

Located east of Quezon City. Marikina is actually the country's Shoe City. Most of the industry in this town is leather-related. For a visitor there is nothing much to see or to do.

MUNTINLUPA

For many Filipinos a place with a sinister name. It is here that the country's largest and most secure prison is located: the Bilibid Prison. This is the only prison where capital punishment is carried out. For visitors there is nothing to do in Muntinlupa.

NAVOTAS

Situated in the northwest part of Metro Manila, Navotas is the shipbuilding area. It is a very low-lying area, which floods very often during heavy rains or high water. No place to be for visitors.

PARAÑAQUE

The place where Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the country's prime airport, is located. Most of the industry in this town is airport related. Paraflaque is also known for its beautiful posh housing estates and the Philippine Village (Nayong Pilipino), a park-like complex, more or less a permanent exhibition, where all the Philippine regions are represented in miniature. There are also cultural shows from time to time. Paraflaque also has an Old Spanish church, dating back to 1625. There are many hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and bars here.

PASIG

Pasig is situated on the extreme east side of the megalopolis, bordering the province of Rizal. It is a mixed area with extensive housing and light to medium industry. For the visitor there is not much to see or to do.

PATEROS

Pateros is the center of the balut industry. Balut is a Filipino "delicacy." It is neither egg, nor duck, but an embryonic duck in a shell, boiled for a few minutes. It takes about 21 days for a fertilized egg to produce a duckling. If you take away the egg anywhere between I or 20 days, cook it a few minutes, and then you have balut. It is a matter of "taste" how many days old you like your balut.

The sandy soil of Pateros provides the indigenous Paterson duck with an abundance of snails and forage, and these then produce the balut. Selling balut is the privileged domain of the balut-vendor.

SAN JUAN

San Juan is the smallest municipality of Metro Manila. With a total population of around 130,000, only the population of Pateros is, with 50,000, smaller. But it is the best organized and maintained part of the megalopolis. Former president Joseph Estrada was, for almost two decades, mayor of San Juan and he did a very good job.

There is little industry in San Juan. It is a place for living, shopping and enjoying a good meal in one of the many restaurants, or visiting a disco or nightclub.

VALENZUELA

Valenzuela is a typical industrial town. Most of its industries fall into the categories "light" and "medium". For a visitor there is nothing much to do or see.
