Marikina is located on the eastern side of Metro Manila. It is bounded by Rizal on the east, Quezon City on the west, and Pasig City on the south.
Geographic Profile
Marikina City is situated in a valley in between the mountains of Montalban and the higher area of Quezon City. Its rich and fertile soil is suitable for farming, but now Marikina is an urbanized area with numerous commercial centers. Its farm lands have been converted into residential areas.
How to Get There
Buses, jeepneys, taxis, and tricycles bound for Marikina are available in any part of Metro Manila.

Name and Location Description
Chapel of Jesus dela Pena [P. Zamora St., Jesus dela Pena] The chapel was built by the Jesuits and declared a national shrine by the National Historical Commission. This was the site of the first mass in Marikina, which was then known as Jesus dela Pena, in honor of the Infant Child Jesus.
House of Kapitan Moy [J. P. Rizal St., Sta. Elena] This 200-year-old house was the residence of Don Laureano Guevarra, popularly known as Kapitan Moy, considered the founder of the country's footwear industry. The house has been cited as a historical landmark by the National Historical Commission.
Marikina River Park [Barangay Sto. Nino, Sta. Elena, San Roque, and Jesus dela Pena] The River Park was established in an effort to revive and beautify the Marikina River. It features gardens, playgrounds, pagodas, and jogging paths. The place is ideal for picnicking, strolling, and even fishing.
Our Lady of the Abandoned Church [J. P. Rizal St., Sta. Elena] The church, which is more than 400 years old, stands imposingly at the town's center, a tribute to the religious and cultural heritage of Marikina.
Shoe Museum [Marikina City] The museum showcases shoes owned and used by famous personalities, including the famous collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
Marikina Sports Center [Marikina City] Marikina used to be a fulcrum of regional and national sports events when it was still a part of the province of Rizal. It used to be the training ground for some of the best athletes the country has ever produced.
Riverbanks Cente [A. Bonifacio Ave., Barangka] This 14-hectare, area has been declared by the city as its central business district.
