PASIG CITY

Area and Location

Pasig is approximately 12 kilometers east-south-east of Manila, with a total land area of 3,100 hectares or approximately 31 square kilometers. It is bounded on the north by Quezon City and Marikina, on the east by Cainta and Taytay, on the west by Mandaluyong, and on the south by Pateros and Taguig.

Geographic Profile

Of the city's total land area, 85 percent is for residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial use. Only 15 percent of total land area is used for agriculture.

How to Get There

Buses, jeepneys, taxis, and tricycles bound for Pasig are available in many parts of Metro Manila.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Name and Location and Location

Concepcion Residence [Plaza Rizal] This multi-storey mansion was used as both Japanese and American headquarters during World War II. The American flag was first raised here on Liberation Day, February 19, 1945. The house has now been converted into the Pasig National Museum.

Dona Geronima's Cave [Pasig City] A legendary cave located along the banks of the Pasig River.

Mutya ng Pasig Market [Pasig City] This 11-storey tower with a revolving top floor is the center of business activities in Pasig.

Pasig City Hall [Pasig City] The seat of the city government.

Bahay na Tisa [P. Burgos St.] This house of Spanish architectural design serves as a venue for art shows and cultural forums.

Heroes Monument [Pasig City] Built in memory of the town's war heroes.

Provincial Capitol [Pasig City] The seat of government of Rizal Province.

Assemblea Magna Marker [Brgy. San Nicolas] Commorates the start of the Philippine Revolution.
