Our list real estate consultant, Tita Domingo is in the States.She will be back soon and is intouch with her clients and staff by e-mail every day. She is visiting with folks from the List now in San Francisco, next week in LA. I just receive this from her. Someone asked it they could own their condo an not his wife. I sent it to Tita. It looks like yes and no. Someone posted buying property here was not a good idea. I guess yes and no. As Tita says below, "Different people have different ideas, opinions and priorities, don't they?" They sure do. I think quality condos and any quality property in Cebu City and maybe the rest of the Philppines too, may be safer than in the States. A lot is overpriced and internationally the States may rival the Philippines as a dangerous place to be. I have never felt any safer in any city more than I have in Cebu City. |
I come from the San Francisco area, where Tita is visiting, and where a two-car garage in my old neighborhood sold for $300,000, or P16,350,000. I know building a new home in a good Cebu neighborhood is a smart retirement move for my family. Let those smart U.S. Filipinos continue to feel pessimistic about buying in Cebu; so much better for me when I decide to move up in five years. They are busting their butts and their marriages over there in California, trying to buy that six bedroom home in the suburbs, spending four hours a day Monday through Friday, back and forth to work, or staying in the city on weekdays, and seeing their family only on weekends. Thank God I got out early enough to enjoy life in Cebu. I do for the Philippines, and in return the Filipino people do for me and my family. I worked with Tita Domingo while I was still in the U.S. trying to relocate. Tita is friendly and professional. If she does not return your email soon enough for you, be patient, and get her cell phone number instead. She did find for me the owner of a modern townhouse in Lapu-Lapu City for rent.. |
