Just e-filed our 2018 taxes for FREE with OLT.  Looking on the free file site at irs.gov is fun.  Age, where you live, gross income, etc all play a part in which company you can use.  Then they tell you got to pay any way!  Some get you because you have an overseas bank account and need to file an extra form etc.  Some you can only pay if you have to with a US CC/debit with US address.

Reminder us living overseas have an automatic extension to 15 Jun as long as we don't owe IRS.  If you owe still need to pay by 15 Apr.

I ended up using https://www.olt.com/main/oltfree/default.asp since they were actually free when I finally submitted the taxes.  TurboTax $39.99. TaxSlayer a charge, TaxAct a charge.  Below is the IRS website page:

I returned to using the new and improved Turbo Tax on-line, but they no longer do if for free unless you are 50 yrs old or younger with a gross income under $65,000 and file a simple 1040. So, I'm out due to my age.
Besides, being a California nonresident residing outside of the U.S. I still had to file a California State Tax, when one has a foreign bank account. No big deal though, at least our taxes have been filed and surprisingly got back a small refund from Federal, when in the past I used to owe Federal. I guess my correct monthly Federal withholding tax is right on the money to break even at the end of the year.  8) :o :)
