Puebla de Oro - after the storm
(1/1)
DaGoodLife4:
I wanted to check in with any one with boots on the ground in Puebla de Oro. I am reading that CDO was devastated by the storm. Can anyone in the area or recently traveled thru shed some objective light on the real logistics in the area currently. How is CDO? Is it wiped out as some would try to imply or recovering? What of Puebla de Oro?
Thanks
Dan

Dan,
Pueblo de Oro is up near the airport, approx. 3,000 feet up.
There is NO problem up there. The damage is *mostly* confined to the lower lying areas of CDO,
altho\' the Bukidnon area got hit pretty badly.
I live in CDO on the beach. Wasn\'t hit too bad as the wall of water
came from inland, and I had houses behind me to sort-of break the force of the water.
I lost about 100 ton of sand from my yard. The water did invade my house but
only minimally. My Pajero was flooded to above the transmission hump.
Electricity is back on after about 6 days. Water supply is still infrequent to the township.
PdO has a different supplier, so was spared this.
Mobile water treatment plants have been provided from Manila for CDO proper, and are purifying water
drawn from the rivers. Definitely not drinkable.
Graham.
