Smart & Globe Cellphone Service Providers

We\'ve used both.  Until a Globe service tower became active about 5 km away, Smart was a better bet in our location on the West coast of Cebu.  We now have reasonably good connections, 3 bars or above, with Globe.  We use Globe cards as needed.  While in the US we maintain a Globe phone roaming.  It\'s used only to receive texts from the RP, the cost being only 1 peso to the sender.  We reply on a US provider (T-Mobile) and it\'s cost is 15 cents.
