My questions

My advise do not come and answer the charges stay out of the RP unit the case is resolved forget coming back to the Philippines

What are the charges of the accused ?

What is your jail term going to be if your convicted as a co-co-consperator  ?

How much money do you have available in cash to get the charges dropped

If appear in court and charges are filed against you may spend some time is prison your trial may drag on for years

Do not put must trust in what your lawyer advises your not in Kansas anymore

I have to agree with this, obviously you dont know anybody here, and honestly if you dont, your just a money target.  The court system is not like anywhere else you have been.....there are some on this forum that will attest to that...there is no jury of your pears here, its a judge, and he does not know you from Adam..unless you are unbelievably lucky, it would be like swimming up Niagara Falls.
My advice, forget it, there are many more Asian countries to visit. Oh and one thing, next time be careful who you hang out with some of the other countries are a lot more strict than here...

I have to agree with the previous 2 posters
I took my ex to court in Manila over her scamming
me out of a Condo. It took approx. 7 years to get
the Condo awarded to me. She put a stop on me
getting the title, and hit me with a criminal charge
of swindling. That was a year ago and I have still
not heard from the Prosecutor in Manila as to whether
it will be dropped or not.

I tell you the above because, if my case for a simple
resolution of the above has taken until now, think how
long you "might" be in jail if what you are charged with
is more serious!

I agree, not good for you to visit the Philippines until the case is solved.  If you have been blacklisted, you will be denied entry into the country or worse ... they'll grab you and put you in prison right away.  Remember the Immigration motto... "Good guys in, bad guys out."

Clearing your name is, of course, very important.  If you're going to hire a lawyer, make sure you have unlimited funds to pay for the lawyer especially since you're going to be dealing with the lawyer long distance.  This case could drag on for years and years.

Good luck!
