Philippines Social Security System
:
Just wondering what anyone thinks of the Philippines Social Security System (SSS) as an investment tool? And if anyone puts money into the SSS for their wives?
I put in 312 pesos a month for my wife into the SSS and I have doubts if the money will be there for her in the future, knowing how corrupt things are in the RP when it comes to money.
Gray Wolf:
Can you even do that? Put money in the system for her? ??? Tell me more...

Bing paid into it for 12 years before she left for the UK, and now that she qualifies for the pension, found that she will only be getting P1200 a month. If you pay for the full term, you will receive more, but the amount is still very small compared to the income from abroad. We decided that it wasn\'t really worth the trouble.

I heard that, bro! I think I\'ll let Gloria invest in a grocery store instead. At least she\'ll always have food. ;D
uk:
the pension you get does depend on how much you pay in but there is other benefit\'s such as Funeral payment of 20,000 p and maternity benefit of up to 30,000 p per child up to the first 4 children .
most of you will learn more about this if you employ a full time maid as you will have to make the monthly contribution to the sss for them as their employer
