Finding land to buy

Curious as to how people find land to buy in the Philippines.

I suspect many expats are pointed at suitable land by their g/f or wife or husband.

Or is there another way?

I don't know how you go about buying such properties but banks have lists of properties for sale.

Personally, my wife and I were told by a friend of some land for sale in Davao.  Prior to that I was always looking on sites like Lamudi for lots for sale, and also houses and lots where maybe the house needed to be demolished and you could rebuild as you wanted.   Found quite a number of suitable lots at various prices.
