Appointment for Initial ID Card for Dependents

(1/2) > >>

bigrod:
Finally got an appointment for the wife's initial Military ID card at the US Embassy.  I have been trying since last September and the system finally showed two appointment times available on 9 Jul 2015.  I grab one of the appointment times.  This will get her DEERS enrolled and her ID card.  The Embassy(JUSMAG) only issue the initial issue of ID cards for dependents not renewals.  Renewals have to be processed by mail to separate ID processing activities.

BudM:
Can't you get renewals over in Dasmarinas Chuck?  I thought there was a DEERS facility over there?  Or is it specifically that renewals are required to go through the mail?

bigrod:
Bud the US military dependent ID card or active duty cards are required to be processed by a RAPIDS office.  See link.

This the link for the embassy info page.

Bud I think you are thinking of the BI office in Dasmarinas.

Yeah, that's such a hassle getting dependents I.D. cards here in the Philippines. Luckily I got my wife's I.D. and updated DEERS at Moffet Field. At least my own I.D. card is indefinite now.

bigrod:
I got mine updated at Moffet Field also.  Dependent IDs are only good for 4 years so a decision where to renew will be made then.  Mine was already indefinite but I renewed it to get the current ID card that was now available.
