I'm hearing here in the US the COLA will be announced on Oct 13.  Now seeing is believing.  My civil service pension will be quite a bit lower since I'm under FERS and Not CSRS.  About 1% lower if its over a 2% inflation.  Not sure what my Air Force Reserve pension will be with 10% VA.  Anything is better then nothing unless it puts you in a higher tax bracket. LOL!

That's a good thing...but its not enough to cover the damages that Sleepy Joe is causing!!

I hear you.  My parents talked often about the inflation and s*** in the Carter and early Reagan years.  My grand parents made the same statements you made concerning the damage done is worse than the COLA increases given.  What turned out nice for them was the late 80's into most of the 90's, those raises from a decade plus prior really helped out(at least until they passed in the late 90's).
I'm wondering if the same will be true here.  Will the raises this year(and probably the next couple-few years) be a gift if the economy can be calmed down and inflation stopped or slowed down to a trickle over the following 10 years or so.
I think most have already accepted that dems are done as of next year, even as then many of the dems that were in dem controlled areas are retiring(I think the number is up to over  10 now in the house alone and we're over a year away from election) as well as all the polls showing a huge red wave.  Which basically means, nothing will happen as the GOP lack a spine to do something.  But, nothing is usually better than something when it comes to the federal government.

This time in there is no Volker to rescue the currency.   More importantly there is no will to do so.

As any logical mind should.  Just as any logical thinking mind would also question how much of what "Creepy Joe" is doing is actually of his own design.  Never saw a bigger puppet in the White House.  And we've had more than a few puppets, representing both parties, in it.

Thus is true :(

Just read where Medicare Part was raising to $170.10 from the original $10.00 increase that was announced.  This figure is for individuals earning less than $91,000 and married couples earning less than $144,000.  Yes, we get the 5.9% COLA of course with stipulations. The mid terms are going to be a bloodbath.  Talking massive red everywhere.  And I think the blue know it.  I do not think they are going any longer with their pro fascist(backing of anti-fa), pro racist(blm, crt backing) agenda.  Don't get me wrong, they'll continue to support those groups as well as the woke brigades.  But no longer going to try and push for those at the national level.  But, they ARE going to try and check every box on the progressive check list.  Forget the damage it does, they want those boxes checked regardless of the incompetence that it brings.
First black female vice president...check(the lowest rated VP of all time also)
First transgender military official....check.
and so on and so forth.  Screw how pathetic they may be at doing their jobs, they want EVERY progressive box on the checklist marked.  They are playing VERY HARD to corner the market on owning all of the progressive votes.  They are making a bet.  I think they jumped the boat on this.
I think they put too much faith in the progressive indoctrination that they've been installing in the schools and they think they are further along than they really are.  And I think it's just now they are starting to find out how real that error is.  They know that they now only have just under a year to do all the box checking they can.  Because all the damage they were trying to do has come to an end when even those in their own parties are going against their plans and getting their massive spending bills through is no long a reality.
The media is already setting up do lessen the damage that's going to come next year.  Biden is, for the rest of his term(or stay in office), a lame duck president.

Well so much for the 5.6% increase Bull s***, I just got the notice from SS as to what my new “benefit” amount will be for 2022 and it works out to be $111 LESS!! than the 2021 payment.
It looks like the Medicare deduction went up a lot.
