Sea Kayaking?
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:04:31 AM »

I have a Klepper Sea Kayak, it\'s a folding boat (fits in three bags), 17 foot long, two person boat that I want to take with us. Used it in Hawaii for years and have paddled it here on Lake Mead many times. Anyway, I will need an additional paddle for it, and it needs to be approximately  8 1/2 to 9 ft. long. I have seen many Ocean Kayak (brand/manufacture), Scupper\'s in the photos but they use shorter paddles and they are not usually of the expedition Sea Kayaking quality I need. I\'m I on the right thought path in thinking I can find a paddle that might meet my needs there or do you think I might do better getting what I want before we leave.

I\'m not sure that during our initial recon trip, that I would have time to also search out a sporting goods style stores but I\'m sure they exist.

Additional one eh?

Take the original to a local artisan and have it replicated ......

Bamboo, tortured plu blades and a covering of carbon and epoxy should sort you out

Often considered a Klepper myself
