Had the opportunity to see the eagles (with Joe Walsh on Guitar) back in 1979. Warm up bands were little river band and Heart GREAT CONCERT!! That was also back when you could see a concert for 10 dollars or less (for front row seats), you could take cameras in (amongst other things :) ).
Great time to grow up, and yes the music was a huge part of that.

I saw Little River Band in either '80 or '81 for something like only 7 or 8 bucks but it was only them. Was not in the Coliseum but another venue (music hall) in town. Never got the opportunity to see Eagles in concert live.

I find that the top concert artists, in most generations, are those who entertain as much with their words and stage performance as with their voice.
Elvis, Bryan Adams, Garth brooks, Journey(Arnel Pineda, not Steve Perry, who I think actually had the better voice), Black Eyed Peas, etc. They all owned the stage when they had their concerts. They did more than just sit on a stool or stand at a mic and sing. They talked, they ran around, danced, and interacted with the crowd. I've had the opportunity to see all those above artists minus Elvis. He died too young for me to enjoy his work.
I also saw some amazing singers in concert...who just didn't have the greatest concerts and you could feel it in the crowd. Won tickets to Celine Dion. I wasn't going to go till the gf demanded we go. Sucked. Amazing voice...but put in her CD and it sounded the same. Boring. Same was true with an early Mariah Carey concert i went to. LOVE her early stuff...but the concert was just so blah.
The Black Eyed Peas will never match Carey or Dion in their vocal talents, but their concert rocked from the first beat through to the last ovation they gave.
Music performed is better than good vocals/music when it comes to concerts. Wish I could have seen the old Eagles or Elvis or even going back further, I think the Rat Pack most likely threw some legendary gigs.

Groannnnn. You had to mention Celine Dion. I can not stomach her especially when I hear her doing one of Heart's hits. Apparently, she is going to be in town, in I guess June or July. All I heard was one or the other from my wife today and all I remember is it started with a "J". She says she wants to go and thought that I would want to go also. I said, no, not really. Told her I would give her a ride but to get a couple of the other girls to go with her. If it is at MOA, I could just drop them off and go over to the mall and hang out until it is over rather than have to deal with traffic for two trips out that way.
So, there you guys go if you are in to her music. Not me though.
