Malaysian Ringgit in Manila?
« on: August 18, 2014, 02:06:47 PM »
Hi friends,  :)

I will be in Manila for a few days and I would like to exchange some USD's for MYR's.

Does anyone have suggestion as to where I can get the best rates?

Hmmm... Malaysia?   ;D  I'm not pulling your leg, but even in the US if I wanted to exchange US dollars for Philippine pisos you must order a large amount and give them days, if not weeks, to make the exchange.  I doubt whether you would be able to exchange USD for MYR

Just take your USD with you and exchange a little in the airport upon arrival.  Later you can find a bank/money changer to convert more at a better rate.  Exchanging here would probably not give you the most favorable rate.

Interesting.

My neighbor is a city attorney and travels quite often.

He just told me there is a Money Exchange office in the little Robinson Mall here and they have most types of Asian currency available, including MYR.

I just wanted to have some MYR when I arrive at my hotel as I am paying upon arrival.

Thanks guys.  :)
