Veterans Benefits Administration - eBenefits
Dear Veteran,
Do You See a Non-VA Health Care Provider?
Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) Health is a program that shares certain parts of your Veteran health record between the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and selected private health care providers over a secure and confidential network known as the eHealth Exchange. This program is free and voluntary for Veterans.
Participating in VLER Health may:
•Reduce the need for you to carry paper records
•Give your provider immediate access to more health care information, during a trip to the Emergency Room
•Reduce your chances of having duplicate tests done
•Increase your safety by providing a more complete medical record, such as your medications and allergies
As a Level 2-authenticated eBenefits user, signing up is fast and easy, just follow the steps below:
Go to https://www.ebenefits.va.gov
Click on the Log-In button in the upper right hand corner
If you need to upgrade your account, click on "Upgrade", otherwise log-in and
Click on “Access my Documents “
Scroll down to “Health" and look for "Manage My Authorizations and Preferences (VLER)"
Click on “Manage My Authorizations and Preferences (VLER)”
Click: “Share your Electronic Health Information with Non-VA Health Care Providers”
If you want to use the mail:
You can send in your health care sharing preferences by completing VA Form 10-0485 and submitting it to your nearest VA Medical Center.
We hope that you find this information useful and beneficial.

Thanks Art! I was unaware this website even existed. I was able to check my status, see a history of my payments, as well as authorize sharing of my health info.

Yes, it is a great helpful website! I was able to log on and checked it out today! I will be using it often from now on! I'll see what TRICARE is like later!

As a 100% disabled vet and using E-Benefits for years and the VA Manila Regional Office and the Out Patient Clinic.
E-Benefits is good for a lot of things. Here's some issues I filed a claim and it went to Pittsburgh so I refiled again the same issue. I called VA and spoke to Mr. Grogen he said he would check into it. 6 months later not resolved. In Jan I could not download my letters from E-Benefits. I called the 1-800 number i got the standard BS answer. As of today it is not resolved. I have send mail to the VA IG.
