I don\'t know as there are too many guys living in Davao that are on this site. I live at the top of the Island in Cagayan de Oro City. I stayed in Davao for a number of weeks, but found the size of the city and the amount of traffic to be too much for me. CdO is a nice compact little city with an ongoing amount of infrastructure taking place, and most importantl;y, friendly Foreigners. Might be worth a look if you\'re not 100% settled on living in Davao.

As my wife is from the Philippines, I just purchased a lot in Villa De Mercedes. Anyone have thoughts of this area?

I never been to Davao, but this caught my eye!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davao_City

Climate
Davao City is typhoon-free. The city enjoys a weather that remains balmy all year round. It is characterized by a uniform distribution of rainfall, temperature, humidity, and air pressure. It has no pronounced wet or dry season. Weather predictability makes it highly conducive to agricultural production. Temperature ranges from 21 to 35 degrees Celsius and average rainfall is up to 2,000 mm yearly.

On the other hand, Davao is susceptible to earthquakes annually!
