Self Defense
lost_in_samoa:
Do people regardless of race, color, creed, and religion have the right of self defense?
Theo54au:
Turn the question around: Is it OK to answer violence with violence?
Bit of an "open-door" question. Like asking: would you like to pay more tax? No. Would you like a better healthcare and infrastucture? Yes.
You get the desired outcome by the way the questions are formulated.

Fair enough.
To answer to your query perhaps you should poll the survivors of,
Australia 1900-1969, Guatemala 1966-1996, Pakistan (Bangladesh War of 1971), Burundi 1972 and 1993, North Korea, Equatorial Guinea, East Timor under Indonesian occupation, Laos, Sabra-Shatila, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Iraqi Kurds, Tibet, Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo, West New Guinea/West Papua, Somalia, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rwanda, Cambodia, Darfur, Sudan
Uhmmmm ..... that's just a partial list of the last 60 years of the government sponsored violence.

You are being disingenuous. You equate the quality of health-care and infrastructure with taxes.
The two are not interdependent.
In my opinion, the best health care and infrastructure is always free market derived and self procured.
As you have demonstrated, Some questions are leading.
I thought my request was very straight forward.
Do you believe that people have the right to defend themselves? Yes or No.
Theo54au:
I think that in most countries the right to defend yourself is constitutional right. (whether I believe it or not) In that case the question is obsolete.
I am not a US citizen, so I can't comment on your personal situation.
Off Topic:
As to taxes and healthcare: Here we have public healthcare, funded by taxes and Medicare levies. Private Healthcare is available for those who demand a private room, plasma TV and a silver plate while in hospital. The majority receives free healthcare through the public system.

Uhmm Ok. You believe your personal opinion on the subject is immaterial because something else guarantees that right.
I guess my question was too simple. I should add a third choice.
Thank you for your input.
