RC Aircraft - crash all u want !!!
« on: March 11, 2010, 06:32:30 PM »
Several years (maybe 10 yrs or more) ago I was in a California Hobby shop and saw what was then the latest in technology ...

A flight sim for your PC with a RC Aircraft controller ! Maybe Colin already knows about these since he has RC gear but ....

WOW ! That was a great idea... RC sim ! The only problem is the price was absurd.. im guessing around $400 if I recall correctly...

Anyhow... I was bored today and walked into a shop and THEY HAD A CHINA KNOCKOFF !!! for less than $20

Yup P800 for the software and USB controller... best of all - I hopped on google after buying it and found there are tons of FREE UPGRADES for the china-software. People make their own aircraft and scenery and you can fly em all !

The software is 100% FREEware - its just the controller that costs the $20 (much better than $400) called New with FMS 2.0 Beta 7
get it here http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html and decide if its worth finding that controller in your province...

Heres a screenshot of the controller in action

ok - time for me to go install it now !

I have seen so much conflict while in the Philippines - amazingly 99% of it was merely online computer experiences :D

I do have that software and several other more expensive versions, but I don\'t have the controller and my RC transmitters will not interface with the other software. I did bring all my modeling equipment with me including several kits and a box full of plans. It has been almost 25 years since I last flew a model, so I may need a bit of sim practice. I have found in the past that even after a break of a few months my hands are shaking when I first put an expensive model into the air. I also have Microsoft Flight Sim X with a good joy stick and that is very good to fly. I did have trouble trying to land a 747 on Puerto Princesa runway  ;D

Where did you buy the controller? My wife is in Manila at the moment, maybe I could persuade her to get it for me.

It was only 800 peso new in box at (02) 489-4932 http://www.enigma-phil.com.ph/ContactUs.php
VERY good dvd with full video instructions on how to configure... but its 100% in CHINESE ! I just looked at the menu locations and lucked my way around setup... until I looked in the box and found the english instruction booklet  ;D

You would have ignored the english booklet too after reading the english on the box. The front reads in big letters:
\"DO FLY JUST YOU WANT TO FLY\"
\"OPEN YOUR COMPUTER THEN YOU CAN FLY\"

I never had to \'OPEN\' my computer but I found out it works best installed under windows XP. (no opening required)  :P

I looked at their pricelist but this controller appears to not exist there http://www.enigma-phil.com.ph/Files/Pricelist.pdf

My reciept says
DESCRIPTION: E SKY EK2-0905A USB GAMEPAD
SERIAL NUMBER: EK2-0905A
PRICE: 800

Hi Tikayem, I see you have added to my posts from 9 years ago :). I have been out of the hobby for over 30 years, but the new design radio gear has inspired me to put a design for a 4 metre twin electric sailplane on he drawing board. I hope to do some aerial filming of Palawan.
