What happens when Microsoft ends Windows 7 mainstream support next year

<< < (7/7)

Colin:
I bought a second hand notebook computer to use while staying in te UKand it had Win7 starter edition on it. It seemed ok but I decided to take the free upgrade to Win10. I haven't fully explored it yet but seems to work fine. The only problem it has given is when the last major upgrade installed, it screwed up my dual boot with Linux Mint. I expect I could have sorted it out but decided to wait untill I got back to my main desktop computer that I left behind in the Philippines. We should be back next week  :) :) :) :) :)

what I don't under stand is why they would give you windows 10 for free It all sounds very good but im not sure nobody give you any thing for free if that's the case why would you buy a new lap top so hp and all are going to lose money

We had a discussion about that at the following link. http://www.livinginthephilippines.com/forum/index.php?topic=50560.0
IMHO nothing is free, everything that is supposed to be free must come with a catch and cost.

BudM:
I had posted this on the thread for the link Lee gave.  Here it is again.
