The Youth Summer 2014 Olympic Games in China is being televised now since a few days ago!

Gray Wolf:
Are any Filipinos participating?

NANJING, China Being a Filipino-American citizen, gymnast Ava Verdeflor could have chosen to train for and eventually represent the United States in international sports events. This would, after all, give her a better chance at winning medals in various competitions.

Instead, the 15-year-old chose to represent the Philippines, the country where she and her parents were born. Now, she is competing in the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG) for her homeland.

The Philippines naturally sent a basketball team over, but don't know of their other sports!

I think its good that she chose to represent the Philippines, even though your correct that she would have a better chance representing the US
I wish more of the Philippines best and brightest would chose to stay here and help their own country instead of doing the OFW thing..
