Quick links- new posts not working
« on: December 11, 2009, 10:41:46 PM »

When I click on New Posts there are never any posts there anymore.  Do I need to change any of my settings to make this work now?

CuyaJoe,

I believe you should be clicking on \"Show unread posts since last visit\" not new posts.  I think new posts means only your new posts.

I only see a \"new posts\" link under the quick links and it is what I use to see all the new posts.
It seems to be working fine on my end.

I wish there was an option to show all posts for the past day and week. Sometimes I\'ll glance at a thread, but later want to return to it :(

Here is what I see at the top left of my screen next to my avatar

Hey, Mr. Lee, you have XX messages, 0 are new.
Total time logged in: XX days, X hours and XX minutes.
Show unread posts since last visit.  you need to click on this line to get to the unread posts
Show new replies to your posts.

and to answer abw, just go to your pull down line (history) which shows your history and pull down until you find the one you want to get back to. The history is usually right at the end of your go line and has a down arrow symbol.

What you see and whether or not you will have a link for unread posts depends on what Theme you use to view the Forum.

I use the Babylon Theme, which has a link at the top of the page marked \"Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit\":

Our Forum default is Slick Pro Graphite and it appears like this.  To view unread posts you\'ll need to click \"Quick Links\":

The SMF default theme looks like this and also has a quick link at top \"Show Unread Posts...\":

The YaBB SE Theme appears thusly and apparently has no quick link for unread posts:

When I come to the forum all the topics that have new posts in them since my last visit have a blue icon.  No new posts in the topic shows as a grey icon.  I can then quickly tell which topics to look into.  I am using the Babylon theme.

I tried tried all the layout hemes before, but I prefer the original default theme, easier to read!

That\'s why we have several to choose from.  The default theme hurts my eyes so I choose the Babylon theme.  Different strokes for different folks!   ;D

We\'re still looking for Themes with \"white space\", big, easy to read lettering, etc.
