I think she was a divisive figure for many and like Marmite, you either love her or hate her, and there is seldom anything in between.
In my purely personal view and from my personal history, I remember the 3 days weeks, the rubbish piling up on the streets, the bodies not being buried all because of strikes and working as I did at Heathrow, the appalling over-staffing and union rules which drove the entire airport into the ground.
Personally I am grateful to her for controlling the unions, allowing me to buy my first house, encouraging me to start my own business, and teaching me that hard work does bring results but that you have to take risks to get there, and that I am solely responsible for my own future, not anyone else and certainly not any government.
So for me, I mourn her loss
I recognise and appreciate, that for others, particulalry those caught up in the truly horrific challenges around the miners dispute, and the devastation wrecked particularly in the North of England to whole communities, they will never forgive.
So thanks Palawan for your comments, and for anyone who feels the opposite to me, I respect your viewpoint too, I can't say I fully understand it, but I do respect it.
