A lot of truth to that Motorsarge.  A lot.

And sadly, I see it all around me.  Pisses me off, more mostly when I see it trying to enter my house.  People telling us we should let our son eat what he wants.  Should be allowed to go where he wants.  Etc, etc.  I was raised, probably as you were, in a generation where we ate what was on our plate, or we didn't eat at all.  That we needed to notify our parents of where we were going, if only to give them some comfort of mind as we would, more than not, be somewhere else playing around rather than at the town park. 

But, there was that structure for kids to check themselves against that is sorely missing now.  The "measuring stick" for them to use, even if they don't always agree with it.  I know I hated that measuring stick more than I admit.  But, it was at least there. 

And I think too many of today's youth are to damn far gone to even have a clue to what we are talking about.

It sounds like we had the same parents and communities.  Maybe I just found a brother I did not know I had

I hear you.  This was more about the hysteria over what isn't.  Even if we reach the same level of deaths as the flu does pretty much yearly, was it really that bad?  We actually have vaccines that are given every year for the flu.  And that many still die.  There is no vaccine for this covid19, and it might reach the same level as flu deaths?  And that is if you believe that all the deaths being blamed on covid19 are actually related to it.  Every day more and more stories of deaths that had nothing to do with covid19 are being blamed on it. 

Is covid19 harmful?  Sure.  Is it as harmful as the flu?  When all is said and done, I doubt anyone educated on the matter will believe that.  Just imagine if we prepared for covid19 like we do for the flu each year with vaccines before it came.  How many less dead would we have?  How many stupid governors would have thrown covid19 infected people into nursing homes?  I'm just not that scared of it.  99.9% survival rate.  Just doesn't worry me. 

Again, the "infected rates are going up"(or at least it's what they are claiming) while the death rates are dropping(despite god knows how many deaths are being blamed on it that have nothing to do with it).  Every day more and more comes out to show that it was never as bad as it was made out to be.

It's been 2 decades since they regularly reported news.  Over a decade since they've been honestly reporting news.  They are a damn joke at every level.  A propaganda agency purely.  All the cable news agencies are such now for the most part.  Fox at least does some news without slander or slanting.  But even they are becoming more and more what CNN has been for a decade.  MSNBC is leading CNN in the propaganda BS. 
Fee and other sights are what i depend on now to "see between the lies/slants" that you get from cable news.  But yeah, CNN went from legit news channel 30+ years ago to an absolute joke these days.  From the top of that organization to the bottom.
