Pay for a match in the US?  There are SOOO many sites online where you can watch it stream live with no pay that would take care of the paying for it.  If they made us pay for it here in the Phils, trust me, I wouldn't be paying for it.  Granted, it would be glichy, but still watchable.  In the US with the net speeds there, it would be pretty clear.

I do agree that Manny lost that killer instinct.  When he had Floyd on the ropes in a defensive position with both hands up to cover his face and his body square to Manny's, that was the point where Manny should have gone for the kill, or at least to bloody a nose or blacken and eye.  That opportunity happened at least 3 times during the fight.  That is what disappointed me about this fight the most.  The loss is on Manny, and that hurts.  Floyd is smart.  Sure he's a wife beater, arrogant, POS with no soul....but he's still smart.  It didn't take him long into the fight to realize the only way he's winning is to "not fight" and keep dancing.  Staying away from Manny's gloves.
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

The whole thing reminded me of this poem we had to learn in school...sixty years ago and I still remember most of it

    The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Mudville Nine that day;
    The score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play,
    And then when Cooney died at first, and Barrows did the same,
    A sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.

    A straggling few got up to go in deep despair. The rest
    Clung to that hope which springs eternal in the human breast;
    They thought, if only Casey could get but a whack at that –
    They'd put up even money, now, with Casey at the bat.

    But Flynn preceded Casey, as did also Jimmy Blake,
    And the former was a lulu and the latter was a fake
    So upon that stricken multitude grim melancholy sat,
    For there seemed but little chance of Casey's getting to the bat.

    But Flynn let drive a single, to the wonderment of all,
    And Blake, the much despised, tore the cover off the ball;
    And when the dust had lifted, and the men saw what had occurred,
    There was Jimmy safe at second and Flynn a-hugging third.

    Then from 5,000 throats and more there rose a lusty yell;
    It rumbled through the valley, it rattled in the dell;
    It knocked upon the mountain and recoiled upon the flat,
    For Casey, mighty Casey, was advancing to the bat.

    There was ease in Casey's manner as he stepped into his place;
    There was pride in Casey's bearing and a smile on Casey's face.
    And when, responding to the cheers, he lightly doffed his hat,
    No stranger in the crowd could doubt 'twas Casey at the bat.

    Ten thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed his hands with dirt;
    Five thousand tongues applauded when he wiped them on his shirt.
    Then while the writhing pitcher ground the ball into his hip,
    Defiance gleamed in Casey's eye, a sneer curled Casey's lip.

    And now the leather-covered sphere came hurtling through the air,
    And Casey stood a-watching it in haughty grandeur there.
    Close by the sturdy batsman the ball unheeded sped-
    "That ain't my style," said Casey. "Strike one," the umpire said.

    From the benches, black with people, there went up a muffled roar,
    Like the beating of the storm-waves on a stern and distant shore.
    "Kill him! Kill the umpire!" shouted someone on the stand;
    And it's likely they'd a-killed him had not Casey raised his hand.

    With a smile of Christian charity great Casey's visage shone;
    He stilled the rising tumult; he bade the game go on;
    He signaled to the pitcher, and once more the spheroid flew;
    But Casey still ignored it, and the umpire said, "Strike two."

    "Fraud!" cried the maddened thousands, and echo answered fraud;
    But one scornful look from Casey and the audience was awed.
    They saw his face grow stern and cold, they saw his muscles strain,
    And they knew that Casey wouldn't let that ball go by again.

    The sneer is gone from Casey's lip, his teeth are clenched in hate;
    He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate.
    And now the pitcher holds the ball, and now he lets it go,
    And now the air is shattered by the force of Casey's blow.

    Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
    The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
    And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
    But there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.

Just change it to there is no joy in the Philippines, mighty Manny slugged out.....
The only thing worse than wanting to do it is not doing it

Well, if you paid a 100 bucks, no wonder you're pizzed.  I was willing to pay 999 pesos last year but this year they wanted 2.5 and even when they called me and asked, I did not order it.  I got to watch the fight though.

If any of you guys are upset, you ought to know by now, watching sports and other entertainment you can not be guaranteed that it will thrill you.  And with boxing, I was a Joe Frazier fan and I lived out in the sticks when Ali went up against him the first.  It sure was a treat making the trip to the horse racetrack about 25 miles away and watching it on the state of the art big screen there and watching Frazier put it to him.  After that, not too much good happened for Smokin Joe especially in his second and third fight with Ali.  I think a lot of the lack of entertainment for me though was probably because I despised Ali so much.  And I guess the putz who got the win against Pacman today reminds me some of Ali's crap.
Whatever floats your boat.

It wasn't about the money to watch the fight, but more than what kind of a legacy these two boxers will leave behind after hanging up their gloves! Nothing that I will personally remember or reminisce about, except for the huge prize money they made without too much effort!

I see your point Art.  My opinion though, Pacman let Mayweather snooker him with the stalling tactics and let too much time be wasted rather than pursuing.

You know what though?  Now that most of the naysayers of Pacman see that he did not go up against a superior fighter like they thought he was, for the rematch, the ticket prices and cost to watch will go up and you will order it again.  Then you will either be disappointed still or Pacman will do what he should have done this time.  Well, I could be wrong.  Depends on who you would be pulling for.  With the rematch, it would be the same boring stunts and a decision handed to him or else Pacman goes ahead and rings his bell.  That is the only way I see him winning.  Pacman sure is not going to win a decision so he would have no choice but to put the lights out on him to have any prestige left.

Crying shame that almost any competition comes down to is who has or has the capability to make the most money and in a lot of cases, who has the biggest mouth.
Whatever floats your boat.

Fact is Both fighters won,,,BIG TIME!!  With the amount of money that each will walk away with.

Now just for the sake of speculation. Imagine what the fight would have been like if it had been a winner takes all purse. Or it could even be a winner takes 2/3 and loser gets 1/3.   I have no doubt it would have been a totally different fight.

The streaming(free) was excellent for the fight. The fight was mere handbags at ten paces. Both looked like they had only been in a beauty contest - unmarked.  Because of the difference in reach Pac should have aimed to mix it in close. It just appeared neither was there to box. Maybe it's time for both to hang up the gloves and Pac and his mom to concentrate on their "Palawan Pawnshop" advertising career.  :D

PS - I had just switched over from the WGC matchplay to the fight. McIlroy had a ringside ticket to fly to the fight immediately after the golf. He ended up having to play 3 extra holes and was then too late to go. He said later he was glad he did not go because it was boring. There is a pic of Darren Clark (Europe ryder cup captain) fast asleep at ringside. He was probably drunk also!

Well everyone is entitled to there own opinion of the fight. In my opinion i see a good tactical fight by Mayweather. The game is to hit and not be hit in return. Most people want to see blood. Mayweather evade punches, slip and move. Paquiao could not just jump in and jump out because that was dangerous, he might have gotten knocked out again. Punches on arms and glove does not count. Flailing hitting air does not count. Mayweather is the better athlete, smarter and better conditioned.
The people expected too much from Paquiao, he is not superman. He looks tired and confused. Forget about the excuses, like his shoulder was hurt. Even said he won the fight. That is not been humble. Just my opinion and i know most of you guys will disagree with me.

Trevor, I'm with what you say.  Mayweather won, fair and square.

That said, by the eyes of most fans, he plays like a coward.  When you get booed so badly and you're fighting in your own country.....that says enough.

You're right, Floyd's the boxing champion.  But, just as true is the fact that Manny is the "People's Champion".

There's not any doubt about that.

Come on guys you don't think the fight out come was not set before they even got into the ring ?

Floyd agreed to the fight with Manny on the condition Manny not fight to win for this he gets 40% or 100 Million USD  Floyd gets the remaining 60% and keeps his undefeated record and they both laugh all the way to the bank.

You would have only have seen a real fight between these 2 if the winner takes all cash

Come on Cogon88 be serious. 80% of Paquiao's fans are just that Fans. They know very little about the sport of boxing. They are disappointed because he did not win. They are not about the best man winning. All they want to see is a KO. There is so many excuses and reasons why he lost. The biggest factor why he lost is.  ... Well i am not going to say it here.
I quess god did not deliver the victory to him like he predicted. They are so many photo shop pictures on FB.
Why is so hard for some people to accept defeat.
Manny is the Filipino peoples champion and i do like Manny, especially when he just started but after awhile i begin to not like the people around him.
He did very well for himself and God Bless him. I hope he is smart enough to walk away while he still have his health.
Would hate to see him end up like Ali.

Will be interesting if the class action suit goes through.  Many calling foul over how he didn't disclose an alleged injury.

Lots of money lost, they have doctor commenting on Pacman's injury and he'd be lucky if he ever recovers from an operation let alone be fighting with it.  I see on the news many people here are complaining and wondering what the problem is well the major problem is people lost some money, some big money, so it's a huge problem and he'll be short 5 million dollars plus lawyer fee's oh boy.
My views would be from someone who lives out in the province close to in-laws on a pension.  Norwegian and French heritage.
