Couple of old hippies looking for a quiet/clean beach, basic bungalow, friendly

Hi guys,
We are a couple of old hippies who like to settle down for a few months in quiet beachside settings.
We are not into diving but enjoy lazing on the beach ( my missus likes to go naked every now\'n then so the ability to find a little piece of sand to ourselves every now\'n then would be nice ), reading, swimming, fishing, wandering, discovering and mixing with locals and expats and generally taking things very easy and as they come, oh and we enjoy a party/nightlife every now and then.
We like to have basic facilities, NO air con or T.V required, but attatched bathroom would be good
( not really needed, happy to share ) idealy a hut on the beach with a balcony would suit us just fine.
Close to local markets and not too far ( an hour or two away ) from a city or town with supermarket shopping and banking.
We are very simple folk with a very limited budget.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks Pete and Di

Well Pete I really don\'t how to reply with your inquiry?

Beach front is costly anywhere near a city of any size. Running \"naked\" in those areas just might bring out the EL-STOP-O and told to leave or the cage for a time?

There are Islands that would be secluded enough in some areas for such activities, but party time would be your own bottle and shopping basically nil. That is, if you REALLY want to rough it, build a lean-to nipa and cook on a open fire?

But what do I know, not my life style  ;D

Pete,

I\'d be very careful about running naked anywhere in the Philippines.  You\'ll find that most Filipino women wear very modest clothing even at the beach.  It\'s not uncommon to see girls wearing shorts and tee-shirts while swimming.

Now, there are undoubtedly islands where one could run as they please, but they are not generally found within an hour of any city I know of.  This is not to say you couldn\'t do as you please, but don\'t be surprised if you find yourself in trouble if you do so.

Having said all that, I do think that you can find a place to stay for a while that has all of the other requirements you mention.  And you might even be able to find a sandy spot to disrobe and enjoy the sun, if that\'s your scene.  Try Boracay Island and hire a boat for the day to take you to one of the uninhabited islands nearby.  Have the bankero drop you off and come back later to pick you up after romping in the sun for a few hours.

But, again, the Philippines ain\'t St Tropez or South Beach, so I\'d be very cautious in doing so.

Oh you can find what your looking for.    I ave seen some very empty beaches  on the leyte coast ...  probably an hour or 1.5  from Tacloban... and  there are a lots of L beaches in this country off the beaten path.   Just grab a Lonely Planet and hit it.    Sounds like you wanted privacy for your natural swims.. and i think you can find that... now exactly where that is .. i dunno...but the search is half the fun.

Hi guys, thanks for your responses.
You may be happy to know that I have convinced the missus that she will have to keep her swimsuit firmly attatched to her body if her dream of spending a few months on a RP beach is going to happen, hassle free. She reluctantly agreed...lol ;)

We are researching our options and have settled on a few places we think might suit us.
Please feel free to give us your ideas and thoughts about the following....
1.... Camiguin sounds relaxed but we are not divers and so are a bit wary that we may overstay our welcome if we dont participate in any diving activities, therefore denying someone extra income, fair enough.
2.... Negros sounds good, many beaches. Sugar beach tickles our fancy.
3.... Siargao hits the spot with me, I\'m an old surfie from way back.
4.... Bantayan sounds great.

We stayed on Boracay for 6 months about 12 years ago. A beautiful island for sure but it sounds like it has become a bit over the top for us. We are plobably looking for everything that Boracay offers but without the mass tourism.

We look forward to your thoughts,
Pete and Di
