Looking for Nice, Safe area to rent 3 bedroom Apartment in Cebu August 2012

Your best bet is to wait until you get there and have a look around then.
You can stay in a cheap hotel or pension house near where you want to live as a base of operations.
Then just hit the bricks and keep your eyes open for \"For Rent\" signs.
The local taxi or trike drivers can be a great resource for places to rent.

Alan,

Avoid online services for your search.  The prices listed are generally inflated for \"rich\" foreigners and many play \"bait and switch\".  Rufus is right when he says get a temporary place in a pension house.  You can negotiate a special rate for monthly stays if you like, then you\'ll have time to explore the areas where you\'d like to live and can find the right place at the right price.

Before moving to Davao city last year......I stayed in a nice, secure, safe, clean subdivision in Lapu-Lapu..........called Collinwood Subd. Good location near Gaisano grand mall, but sits back from the road...so quiet there. It has nice cement roads, basketball and tennis for residents only, noise ordinance 9pm-7am. Just drive around inside after getting permission from security.........you might see signs for rental homes or townhouses.
