Post by: jmauser on May 31, 2010, 11:56:48 AM
Hello, all!
Just wanted to share the recent trip, to the RoP. With stops at Corregidor, Baguio, and MacArthur Park. Great fun and food, accentuated by the company we kept. I finally met \"THE ONE\", proposed and she accepted. Great trip, pics are located on my Facebook http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=630288270
you may have to sign up, sorry.

Congrats on finding \"The One\"!  I wish for you and Joy all the happiness and joy that life together can bring!

Couldn\'t view any pics on your FaceBook pages.  Hmmm...   Maybe you cold post a few of the better pics here for all of those who can\'t view them on FB.

Again, congrats!   :)

Or upload them to any of the online foto sharing sites and post that link here.

I like Picasa Web but there\'s also Photo Bucket (which I use for posting fotos here) and Flickr.

I haven\'t been to Corregidor ever since. Only got it on books and had seen pictures of the place on postcards. Hope I can visit there too!

For me, the visit to Corregidor Island was both a very emotional experience and a very educational experience.
I learned what the country and the people had gone through and had experienced at the hands of the temporary conquerors of WW2, and how it affected their outlook and thinking even today.
Seeing the destruction and hearing about the number of casualties brought the reality of war and havoc to me.
I am grateful for having had the chance to visit the island, to see the museums and monuments, and to understand what role the country and its people played in WW2.
Just my thoughts about Corregidor Island....

I enjoyed the Corregidor trip.
We had a great trip and our lovely and funny guide was outstanding.
The only downside was the buffet, quite boring food.

We have made plans to return, and stay the night on the island. They now have a few outdoor  activities available, hiking, kayaking, zipline, etc. Should be a great time!
