Fiestas make it even more fun in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines - The past year has been a great one for Philippine tourism, with many of the country's destinations topping international travelers' lists.
More than the pristine white beaches and the awe-inspiring landscapes, though, what makes it truly "more fun in the Philippines" is its people. This is no more evident than in the colorful festivals wherein one can witness a sea of people gamely donning costumes, dancing to infectious beats, and regaling both local and foreign tourists alike.

The rest of the story (fiestas by area with lots o pics)...

Heading back over in 4 weeks time to see the local Fiesta in our small village.
Can't wait to watch all the colours and hear that crazy beat.
Still can't get the image out of my head of a few years ago when there were 5 guys standing on the back of one of these small suzuki ? pick-ups. They were banging away on all their drums, so engrossed in the beat, the whole pick-up was almost lifting off the ground and the driver could hardly sit in his seat ! Amazing thrill to watch,..great to be part of it.
