I\'m here (finally). Somehow the server had dumped my ISP.

Murf\'s passing is sad news indeed. I know he tried our patience many times and certainly had his own way of doing and saying things, but Murf had a heart as big as they come. I had a chance to speak with him last week on Skype and we talked for over an hour. Well, I did most of the talking, Murf did all the gasping for air. He expressed his love for this Forum and all of you, his friends. Through our Forum Murf had the opportunity to not only have contact with people he loved, but also to leave a part of himself in the forum of his writing and pieces of his soul. His writing style, while difficult to read many times, was from the heart. If he said he was going to do something, he did it, or at least tried with every ounce of fiber in his being to do it because he was a man of his word.
Some will miss him, some won\'t. I can fully understand both attitudes. I had my problems with him once or twice due mainly to his hardheaded Irish attitude.

But for all his faults, all of which he owned up to, I truly loved Murf. He and had I spent many days of our youth stomping the same bloody ground in Vietnam. Although he would at times elaborate in off topic rants, and other times he would only speak in wistful terms, Murf was a warrior at heart. It showed if you got on his bad side. I often think of the poor local pinoy who would run into an irate Murf merely trying to do one more thing \"his way\".

This is how I choose to remember my friend and brother in arms. A warrior, proud and strong who gave it all he had in whatever he did. May his beloved Jennifer be blessed with peace and the knowledge that she was his one true love.
Murf, wherever you are, rest in peace brother.
