I recently found DHMO in our pipes, how do I remove it?
Colin
Cut the pipes into 10 foot sections, taking care to cap both ends. Remove the pipes one section at a time. Suspend the section vertically above a 55 gallon drum which has had its top removed by an acetylene torch and been cleaned with muriatic acid. Remove the lower cap from the section pipe. Wait 10 minutes, then reposition the section of pipe horizontally on the ground. Remove the remaining cap and use a hair dryer to force warm air through the pipe for 5 minutes.
Repeat this process for all sections of pipe. Re-approximate each section of pipe as close as possible to its pre-cutting original position. Depending on the pipe composition, weld or glue each adjacent section together.
Your entire pipe system should now be DHMO free. If not, repeat the process.
Good luck.
