Vigan, Ilocos Sur
« on: November 23, 2011, 07:41:30 AM »
Of course when you go down those roads you always end up somewhere.  The first big leg of our road trip ended in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.  The cleanest city I\'ve ever seen, in spite of the many Calesas.
You could tell at once that the people took great pride in their property and surrounding area.  Hardworking and disciplined, the Ilocanos have maintained the fine old Mestizo homes and shops, examples of the Colonial Spanish period, and many remain both as shops and living quarters with new souvenir and antique shops springing up regularly.
