At least you both made it safely to Cebu even though your luggages came later and fortunately still intact.
Enjoy your vacation in Cebu. Since we're still here in Northern California on vacation, we'll probably see you both maybe the next go around.

What airline(s) did you use?  I'm amazed it made it all the way to Cebu and you didn't have to wait for it in Manila.

Lee flies direct to Mactan. He doesn't touch Manila.

We use Korean Airlines and have for probably the last 5 or 6 years. We take Delta to a place Korean starts from, so in our case Atlanta works out best for us and then KAL to Seoul and then KAL directly to Cebu. I hate flying into Manila since they had always tried to take advantage of us in past years, one year a guard distracted me while another stole my pants out of my carry on and then the other guard told me that I should reward the other one for finding my pants  :o and at least 2 other years, customs had their hands out telling us they would have to search every inch of our suitcases, until my wife handed them the money they wanted and then they just passed our luggage along. Of course my wife is not Tagalog, so that might play into our issues as they treat her as a foreigner just as they had treated me.

Just for a follow up to the meet up, my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting the other Lee (coleman) and his lovely wife and member Ronin and his lovely wife, it was great meeting you all and we feel we now have gained some great friends.

During the meet up, we all got to meet quite a large group of members from another forum and it was a pleasure meeting up with them as well. Forums are a great way to meet people and make some great friends, I highly recommend members who wish to, meet up with other members.

No wonder why hardly anyone hasn't been active on here.
They're all out to lunch with both Lees.
Glad you all enjoyed your meeting up!

It was a great time, putting a face on people you have known for years is a lot of fun and I can tell you rarely do they look like you expected them to.
One of the best things was for Maline to meet other wife's and girl friends that are with expats, like forums, the experience of meeting folks that are actually living here or here and other countries opens the perspective.  Also the advice you can get is invaluable.
Last but not least, making new friends is a good thing...
The only thing worse than wanting to do it is not doing it

We enjoyed meeting the Lee's for lunch too...

Good people for sure.

Funny note...

My middle name is Lee AND my wife's middle name is Lee.  There were more Lees at lunch than a Chinese laundry!

It's just amazing to me that 3 ugly Americans can find beautiful wives who all (apparently) have bad vision...

Just kidding, Lee is a very handsome man.

Well you are definitely an handsome guy. I have to agree with your first assessment of me, I kept telling my wife she needed glasses when she always called me gwapo.  8)

Hope to get to meet up with you both when you get back to the good ole US of A.

We met up with Lee and his lovely wife Nila last year.
Lee is for sure a "chick magnet", because he's still
pogi for his age!  ;)

Just saw the post on reunion. I agree to disagree. It is insurmountable to probably 90% of us.
