You are a new member, thus the things you can do are restricted, the reason is to prevent spammers from using the forum to promote their products or themselves, stick around and post some more and before long you will be able to update your profile within reason, we do not allow links in profiles for the same reason until members become senior members.

Why would I contribute to a forum, where seemingly nobody else posts, just so I can reach a point where I can delete my profile myself?

No problem sir, your choice but once you join a forum then you cannot delete your profile or membership, I guess I was not clear in my reply, have a good life.

I am sorry to read that you feel that way. Some people demand instant gratification and expect other members to fawn all over them and their posts, I see that did not happen with your first post which was an odd first post to begin with, quite possibly had you introduced yourself first then you may have gotten replies, C'est la vie.

Ah well - he was northern Irish after all! They have just finished wreaking havoc with the 12th July parades so nothing else left to do for a year.
