Excise tax on Automobile
« on: July 19, 2017, 07:35:11 PM »
I do not know if y'all are aware of the new excise tax on new automobile  that will take effect on Jan 2018 and 2019.  If you are planning on buying a new car, you need to buy it before the end of the year as prices will significantly goes up.

The good 'ol Philippine congress is also thinking of implementing more taxes on petroleum products.  If approved, it will also take effect next year.  Taxes, taxes and more taxes.  One of three things that are guaranteed in our life.  Below are the links.

Yes there will be a significant increase, approx 30% for the Ranger Wildtrak that I am planning to buy.  If all goes to plan I will purchase both my wife's car and mine before the end of the year.

I guess with the demand on the incline to beat the end of the year, all the prices probably will be going up for you guys prior to the tax increase.
Whatever floats your boat.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I have done heaps of research and checked out the Mazda as well, and for me at least, the Ford is my choice.  The top 3 trucks are the Mazda BT50, Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Ranger Wildtrak.  A lot comes down to personal opinion, styling, brand recognition, etc etc.

I believe FORD owns Mazda the reasons why they are somewhat identical.  I remember that some older models of Ford rangers were made by Mazda

Not any more.  Ford used to own 33.3% of Mazda shares but has sold them.
