Maybe this belongs in it's own thread, but it is about Lazada.
I went on Lazada today to buy another POD, TV, and TV bracket.  Only to find that things have changed since I last purchased anything from Lazada.  For over a year now I bought everything by COD and paid more than the 2000 mark that would give me free shipping.  Now, all shipping costs fall to the seller in order to "save money".  Well, none of the prices dropped and all the shipping costs jumped up and some not by small amounts.  I went to live chat and the dude is defending their move because it saves money.  I tell him it's not and he says I'm using it wrong.  Goes on to tell me that the costs for the products are lower and the new shipping costs added to the new lower prices will keep my costs low. I finally take a screen shot of my last orders and my ordering page today at checkout(page that shows and itemized layout of costs right before you purchase) and how much more I am paying(a couple thousand almost).  He then says he'll report the issue.
So I go to shopee. I find that they finally have the Tronix POD and also care the same tv both for less than the price on Lazada and shipping prices are almost non-existent.  I really did save money over what I paid for the same the last time I ordered them.  Also was able to get some stuff for Tina for her catering business.  Lazada is moving in the wrong direction for me.

WTF??? Lazada does NOT set prices. The prices are set by anyone who wants to sell through Lazada. Any one item will have 20 different prices depending on the dealer. I have seen many items with a price difference of up to 500% on Lazada. That is opportunist dealers using Lazada to rip off customers.
If you simply select an item and browse through the different dealers you will find huge price differences.
Generally I find the prices on Lazada about Half what the same items cost here. In the past few months I have been spending about PHP20,000 per month shopping on Lazada and have to say I have no problems so far. Depending on the dealer the Price of shipping can be free or not.

Yeah, I have seen those wide range of prices, depending on who is selling it, and it has been going on for a while.  I don't order anywhere near as much as you.  Maybe couple thousand every two or three months.  Shoppee has some low prices too.  So, it is kind of hit and miss if you get a good price or not but I sure have found quite a few things on Lazada at pretty decent prices plus things that I could not find outside.  Galleon is the one that really kills you on prices in my opinion.  I don't know who is making all the money with them but I got one item from them about three years ago and then I said, "screw them" after I continuously checked their stuff out for another year.  Usually, from what I have seen, even if they have a decent price, then the shipping charge kills it for them.
Whatever floats your boat.

To give a better understanding, Lazada is the Filipino version of Ebay. Like Ebay, Lazada is just the middle man.

I wasn't discussing the prices on the item, but the new shipping costs setup.
For the last couple years, when I shopped on Lazada, if an order was over 2000php, all shipping was free(that's the setup for us shoppers living in the Visayas or Mindanao, I know it's less for those on Luzon and even lower yet for those in the NCR as far as how much you needed to spend to get the free shipping).  That is over.  It's done.  Now, all SHIPPING costs fall to the seller.

I understand how to shop.  It's why my 32" LCD tvs cost right around $100 usd in price for a product that for the most part, does everything I want.  You look for the best price.  My issue is the customer service rep that I was dealing with was telling me I was doing it wrong because with their new setup, it saves money for everyone.  That's when I got my past order/costs page up and took a screen shot.  Same tv, same seller, same price on tv, but now the shipping costs have jumped.  He then finally stopped telling me I was doing something wrong and that they would look into the issue(what issue, seems pretty clear to me what's going on)  Same on the POD and the bracket. Same everything, but when adding all 3 items together, nearly a 2000php jump in costs due to the added shipping costs.

I went to shopee.ph, actually was able to get the exact same products(brands, models and all) and after their very small shipping fee still got it for less than the pre shipping costs at Lazada.  I need to look at shopee more and more.  Just a few months ago, the last time I bought that TV for the builder I'm using now on my home, shopee didn't have the tv or POD.  So whoever is running shopee is doing a good job on expanding the products you can get on there(the sellers, I know. either sellers are waking up to shopee, or shopee is doing a better job of finding them and getting them to use shopee as a site to sell)

I also think shopee and lazada are closer to Amazon than ebay.  Ebay is close, but I see much more of "stores" using lazada and shopee than just any tom, dick or harry throwing up an item every now and then to just get rid of it and make a little money of it like I saw on ebay in the USA.

Good reminder for me and thanks Dick for showing this thermal grease I had some issues with my desktop and one of them was that the thermal grease was dried up and the other was that the RAM needed cleaning with an eraser, now other than Lazada I'm not too sure where to find this valuable stuff but I will look.

Lazada would only come in handy when you live in a provincial area (me) far from a valuable parts store even a CDR King we had one of those but they either went out of business or moved I need splitter cables for my ABS/CBN box and DVD player I can't find a DVD player with an HDMI cable so I might end up having to order online the costs of travel and transportation hassle would have me use Lazada but I agree with you many of the prices online are much higher.
My views would be from someone who lives out in the province close to in-laws on a pension.  Norwegian and French heritage.
