Last couple of years I’ve dabbled in turning metal on a hobby Southbend lathe I bought used. No fancy projects or anything, just making parts for repairing mechanical problems I run into or tools I think I need for other projects. When I retire there in 2 years, I’d like to continue machining metal and advancing my skill in it just for my own use and satisfaction.
Are any of you doing any machining? I suppose it would be impractical to bring my lathe there so I would have to search for one there. Has anyone seen industrial supply stores that carry metal lathes for hobby use?
