Best spots outside the city of Ilo-Ilo?

Just started planning the next trip to Philippines in 2020. Will be spending some time based in Ilo-Ilo, but am looking to explore outside of the city itself, especially looking for decent islands and beaches. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions on great locations around Ilo-Ilo?

I was there a couple times a little over a year ago, I like Iloilo, but not a whole lot going on there.  There is a great little bar that sells EXCELLENT craft beer and some exceptionally good bar food.  Also, I ate a shitload of oysters: grilled, steamed, baked, almost raw etc... Seemed like every restaurant sold oysters.  There is an island that is very close and accessible, but I never went there to check it out.   Enjoy
